Who runs it
Guagualine is a service by Guía Turística, a company that recognised the demand for digital transport solutions in the Dominican Republic: travellers want to move between cities without deciphering ticket counters, unpublished timetables or stops that do not appear on any map. We work as a travel concierge: we arrange the ticket, give exact directions and stay with you on WhatsApp. We are neither a transport company nor anyone's official website: we are the ones who organise the journey for you.
Where the idea came from
Planning a journey between cities means working out where to take the bus, which timetable applies and how to arrange a ticket. Guagualine brings together booking management and instructions for travellers who need help organising the journey. We check each request's conditions before requesting payment.
What we actually do
We check availability, conditions and the final price before requesting payment. When the operator issues the ticket, we send confirmation with its details, bus points, Google Maps and instructions. All our bookings include the management fee and WhatsApp support. Taxi or Uber rides are booked and paid separately, subject to availability.
How to read the timetables
Timetables from initial research are pending verification and do not establish seat availability. We review the information for your date before arranging a ticket. The last departure of the day is not offered. Any later alternative depends on availability and operator conditions.
Prices and what we do not control
Prices you see are estimates and always shown as from, in US dollars. The final price is confirmed before you pay. Timetables are set by the operators and can change without notice, which is why we call instead of copying tables. When something depends on third parties we say so rather than dressing it up.
Where we are right now
We are a young project in launch phase, with few routes covered and growing where there is real demand. Every request is answered by a person, not a bot, which means we sometimes take a few hours. We would rather say that than pretend to a size we do not have. If we cannot verify a route, we tell you and we do not sell it to you.
How to reach us
WhatsApp is the main channel, where the whole trip is handled and where we reply fastest. If you prefer email, write to us through the contact form on this site and we answer by email. We do not publish the address in plain text to avoid spam, but there is a person reading behind that form.
